A model railroader’s dream workshop

Don Vancil's Railroad workshop

I am not a model railroader, but my brother-in-law Don is. He has been working on collecting pieces for a layout for many years which reflect his interest in Colorado trail history.

Recently, he finished some renovations on the house and added a pretty cool workshop. This is one of those workshops which would show up in some hobbyist magazine’s "dream workshop" article.

There is room for all of the little paints and parts which are needed for this kind of hobby, as well as a painting hood which vents to outside air.  And of course, all the little houses and equipment all have their little bits of story around them, like the town they came from or what they were used for. This depot house for example was adapted from another custom kit which is wired and lit. He is cutting individual shingles to reroof it.
